Workshop on “PCI Data Security Standard & Compliance”

This one-day workshop is intended to provide an introduction to the PCI Data Security Standard and the compliance obligations facing merchants and service providers in Hong Kong.

During the course of 2009, banks and payment card brands will begin to expect companies in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia to begin demonstrating compliance with the PCI's Data Security Standard (DSS). The precise requirements for compliance are complex because they vary depending on the size of the merchant/service provider, and the actual requirements set down by the bank or acquirer.

This course aims to introduce the purpose and scope of the PCI DSS, explain the two avenues of compliance required (one based on information systems audit and the other on network vulnerability scanning), and help merchants plan and manage their compliance obligations so that they are prepared when the demands for compliance begin to arrive.
